Built in 1905, this church stands on a site with a long Methodist history. The first church building here was a simple log cabin known as Emmanuel Methodist Church. Over the years, several Methodist churches occupied the site under different names.

Beside the church stood the parsonage, which housed the minister and his family. The parsonage stood where the Lake City Methodist Church offices are located today. In 1932, the church building was updated with a brick veneer, giving it the appearance remembered by later generations.
